LyondellBasell Additive Shortage Leads to Force Majeure for Certain Grades of its Polypropylene
November 09, 2021

A shortage of raw materials has impacted LyondellBasell's ability to produce certain grades of Polypropylene (PP), leading the company to immediately declare a force majeure.

In a letter to customers, the company's Equistar Chemicals said the raw material shortage is beyond its control and is impacting the production of PP grades that use peroxide-based additives.

The company also said that allocations of the specified grades will be calculated based on the purchase history of specified grades over the last six months.
