Sabic Opens New Polypropylene Compounding Line in Belgium
October 13, 2021

Sabic has started up a new Polypropylene (PP) compounding line this month at its facility in Genk, Belgium, which is part of its business strategy to grow PP compound solutions in the automotive, home appliance and consumer goods industries.

The new line has been equipped with large-scale extrusion technology to meet the market's growing demand for high-quality, high-performance PP compounds, and is an addition to the company's existing production capacity for PP at the Genk using raw materials from PP plants at Gelsenkirchen, Germany, and Geleen, The Netherlands.

Sabic said the added capacity also enhances its on-site production flexibility for introducing new PP polymer technology without compromising the security of supply of established compound products.
