Houston Hunkers Down for Hurricane Harvey

Hurricane Harvey is barreling towards the coast, approaching landfall as a Category 3, threatening key petrochemical infrastructure. Several operators have taken emergency precautions, including the temporary shutdown of facilities.


This includes waterways:

The Freeport Harbor Channel is closed for all incoming and outgoing traffic.

The Port of Houston has closed container terminals and cargo facilities.

The Corpus Christi port has limited or stopped all ship movement.
